The 2012 Corporate Counsel Pro Bono Initiative Gala returns to Nashville this year after five highly successful years, where more than $250,000 was raised through sponsorships. The upcoming gala will be held Saturday, March 24.
This year, you can join the corporations and law firms from across the state and the nation who stepped forward to support this initiative. Money raised through the events has been used for a series of outreach events held around the state, from Kingsport to Memphis. These events provided networking opportunities and offered in-house and law firm corporate counsel information about how they could become involved in pro bono work locally.
The money raised has also already funded corporate counsel pro bono project grants across the state. The projects offer in-house and corporate lawyers specific pro bono opportunities tailored to their situations, skills and interests and facilitate partnerships among corporate legal departments, law firms, access to justice and other community service organizations to help meet local legal service gaps.
