YLD Mission
The mission of the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, as the state organization of young lawyers, is to provide leadership in serving the public and the profession and to promote excellence and fulfillment in the practice of law.

YLD Benefits

Members of the Tennessee Bar Association automatically become members of the Young Lawyers Division if they are under the age of 36 or have been licensed to practice law for five years or less. There are no additional dues to pay. Benefits include:

• A subscription to the Tennessee Young Lawyer, the division's print publication which is published four times a year.

• A subscription to the YLD's e-newsletter E-DICT. Sent each month, E-DICT is designed to keep members in the loop on recent happenings through a more informal medium.

• Access to Continuing Legal Education seminars that are of particular interest to young lawyers such as the New Lawyer Experience, which helps new attorneys bridge the gap between preparation and practice, as well as more in-depth seminars on trial practice, transactional practice and ethics.

• Opportunities to network with more senior attorneys in the state at local receptions and leadership seminars.

• Opportunities to make a difference through public service. The YLD organizes the state high school mock trial competition, law day activities in the schools, other law related education programs and public service projects around the state.

• Access to TBAJobLink, a job and resume posting site.

• Opportunities to interact with other young lawyers in the state, exchange ideas and experiences, and debate legal and life issues of importance through a variety of activities and events.
