TBA Health Insurance Exchange FAQ

The TBA has partnered with AHIX – a division of JLBG Health to offer a Public and Private based Health Insurance Exchange for our members. Here are some answers to common questions:

Q: Is this the same thing as the government run Public Exchanges?

A: Yes and No. Yes, you are able to access the Public run Exchanges through our system to see if you will receive any premium subsidies and sign up for plans. The rates and plans are EXACTLY the same as the government based ones. However, you will ALSO be able to see Private Exchange rates which can offer more plan designs as well as lower premiums in some cases. You choose what's best for you or we can help.

Q: How do I find out what premium subsidy I can receive and look at rates?

A: Simply log on to TBA Health Insurance Exchange or call 866-907-2763 and see what you qualify for today. It's simple and free.

Q: Can my employees also access this system?

A: Of course and it will also show them what subsidies they receive and what then are eligible for.

Q: Can I contribute to my employees premium?

A: Yes you can contribute a flat dollar amount called a defined contribution plan however you are NOT required to pay any portion of the premium. You may even have employees that qualify for a FULL premium subsidy and therefore no additional premium would be required.
