Gov. Lee Still Considering Future Refugee Resettlements
Gov. Bill Lee has not yet responded to the White House whether he will continue to allow refugees to resettle in Tennessee. He has a little over a month to decide, Nashville Public Radio reports. The move was prompted by an executive order issued by President Trump in September that asks states and cities to “consent in writing” if they want to continue refugee resettlements. The governor’s office told NPR it is waiting on additional guidance from the federal government before making a final decision.
