American Bar Association YLD -- The ABA YLD held its 2013 Spring Conference May 16-18 in Minneapolis. In addition to great programming and public and member service projects, the conference featured a dinner dance at the popular tourist destination, Nicollet Island, and a boat tour of Lake Minnetonka. The ABA Annual Meeting will take place Aug. 8-13 in San Francisco. Finally, affiliates with programs they would like to submit for an Award of Achievement have until June 15 to do. Jackson Madison County Bar Association YLD -- The Jackson Madison County Bar Association YLD is joining forces with the TBA YLD to host "Pour Your Heart Out for CASA: A Wine Tasting Event" TONIGHT (May 30) at 5:30 p.m. The event will take place at Flatiron Grille, 1160 Vann Drive, Jackson 38305. Knoxville Bar Association Barristers -- The Barristers will hold its next meeting June 12 at 5 p.m. at the Bistro by the Bijou, 807 S. Gay St. It also is seeking volunteers for the 2nd Annual East Tennessee Accessibility Symposium planned for Aug. 23. The event, cosponsored by the Barrister's Diversity Committee, will present briefings on the various sections of the Americans with Disabilities Act and field questions from professionals in the design industry and those who benefit from accessibility. Maury County YLD -- The Maury County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division has elected Jacob "Jake" Hubbell as its new president. He succeeds Douglas K. Chapman. Hubbell, a 2011 graduate of the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, practices in Columbia with a focus on criminal defense, general civil litigation, estate planning, probate, trust, product liability, real estate and personal injury. Memphis Bar Association YLD -- The Memphis YLD will host its annual Golf Tournament on Oct. 4. The event will begin with a 1 p.m. shotgun start at Glen Eagle Golf Course. Montgomery County YLD -- Young lawyers in Montgomery County recently formed a young lawyers division of the Montgomery County Bar Association and elected its first slate of leaders: President Jacob Mathis, Vice President Justin Sensing, Secretary/Treasurer Jennifer Ray, and board members Hillary Monroe and John Parker.
