YLD Election Petitions Due April 1

Pursuant to Article VII, Section 4, of the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Bylaws, notice is given of the following elections. Candidates who wish to stand for election must file a nominating petition with the TBA YLD Secretary no later than Monday, April 1, at 5 p.m. central. The petition should be faxed or emailed to YLD Secretary Marisa Combs at (615) 259-1389 or mcombs@lewisking.com. Questions about the election should be directed to Combs at (615) 259-1366. Candidates unopposed for a position will be deemed elected on April 1. Contested elections will be decided by secret ballot at the division’s annual meeting June 14 in Nashville. • YLD Vice President (candidates must reside in the Middle Division)
• East Tennessee Governor
• Middle Tennessee Governor
• West Tennessee Governor

• Odd-Numbered District Representatives:

District 1: Carter, Greene, Hamblen, Hancock, Hawkins, Johnson, Sullivan, Unicoi and Washington counties
District 3: Knox County
District 5: Hamilton County
District 7: Cannon, Coffee, Franklin, Grundy, Marion, Rutherford and Sequatchie counties
District 9: Davidson County
District 11: Bedford, Giles, Hickman, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Marshall, Maury, Moore, Perry, Wayne and Williamson counties
District 13: Chester, Decatur, Fayette, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Lauderdale, McNairy, Madison and Tipton counties

House of Delegates Seats
In addition to the above board positions, two young lawyer seats in the TBA House of Delegates are vacant and must be filled by the YLD Board. They are:

• Young Lawyer Delegate, Middle Grand Division
• Young Lawyer Delegate, West Grand Division

Delegates serve for two years and will attend their first meeting Sept. 27 in Nashville. Lawyers interested in being considered for these positions should contact YLD President David Veile at dveile@sbdlaw.net or (615) 550-2800 by May 1. The two candidates will be selected at the June 15 YLD Summer Board Meeting.
