Environmental Law is a combination of treaties, statutes, regulations and common law that manages and controls the relationship between human activity and our natural environment. These sessions are designed to give you a basic over view and important updates in three key areas: climate change law and policy, energy law and policy, and hot topics in agriculture. The last session of the day includes recent developments in food safety with a review of the new statutory enactment permitting the growing of hemp in Tennessee.

Fundamentals of Federal Appellate Practice

Federal appellate judges, the Sixth Circuit Clerk, experienced practitioners, and former federal appellate clerks will explain the key steps in the federal appellate process, providing unique and valuable insight. This six-hour program will address best practices for federal appellate practice, including compliance with rules of appellate procedure, brief-writing, and other important topics.

Creditors Practice 2014

The TBA's Creditor's Practice Section offers current developments in this area of the law. The first portion of the program will be a discussion of recent Tennessee case law and the effect on legal collection practices. The second portion of the program will be a discussion of the new Tennessee Collection Service Act amendment dealing with banking regulations. The third portion of the program will focus on the current state of rules and regulations promulgated by the CFPB, and the fallout for law firms and clients.
