Candice works as a consultant, trainer, and coach for lawyers and their organizations on issues relating to workplace engagement, professional development, and career satisfaction and transition. In 2011, she founded Candice Reed Consulting, which offers a variety of services – from individual coaching to workshops, associate training programs and recruiting and placement services. Candice is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from attorney wellbeing to cultivating business opportunities through positive relationships and capitalizing on employees’ strengths to increase their workplace engagement and professional success. Candice graduated from The University of Tennessee College of Law, with high honors, in 2000 and practiced business litigation and commercial bankruptcy law with the firm of Miller & Martin PLLC for five years. In 2005, she accepted a management position with Counsel On Call, a legal services and placement firm. As Executive Director, she directed and managed the daily operations of the company’s home office in Nashville and was primarily responsible for all sales and client development. As the company grew, Candice also began simultaneously serving as the Vice President for Recruitment and Placement. In this role, Candice trained, oversaw, and managed all corporate employees (across five offices nationwide) working in the company’s Candidate Recruitment and Placement Division. In 2008, while continuing to work full-time, Candice also began studying positive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. Positive psychology is the scientific study of the strengths and virtues that enable individuals and organizations to thrive, and it serves as the basis for Candice’s coaching and training programs. In 2011, in addition to starting her own consulting business, Candice began serving as in-house legal counsel for Ceridian Corporation and ultimately assumed the role of Chief Ethics Officer, overseeing all aspects of Ceridian’s operations to ensure that they were consistent with the company’s Code of Conduct, other policies, and law. She created and led training programs to familiarize employees with the company’s ethical goals and managed internal investigations. Candice moved into this same role for Comdata, Ceridian's sister company, in 2013. Candice currently serves on the TBA's Attorney Well-Being Committee and is a graduate of the TBA Leadership Law Class of 2008. She also is a TBA YLD Fellow and former LAW President. Candice served on the CASA Nashville (Court Appointed Special Advocates) board for six years (2008-2014), serving as chair of its Development Committee for two, and continues to volunteer for the organization whose goal is to find safe, permanent homes for those children who come to the attention of the courts through abuse or neglect.
