Born in Memphis, Tennessee, September 24, 1948. Married to Mary Souder Edwards. Admitted to practice in Tennessee, all Courts, on the 16th day of April, 1977; U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee on the 6th day of July, 1977; Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, 1982; all Montana Courts on the 15th day of November, 1994; U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas on the 15th day of November, 1995; U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee on the 28th day of January, 1998; June 9, 2010 in the Supreme Court and all inferior courts of the State of Arkansas; the Western District of Arkansas on the 1st day of November, 2010; the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee on the 5th day of October, 2012; and on October 7, 2013 in the Supreme Court of Kentucky and in all of the Courts of this Commonwealth. Practiced before U.S. District Courts for the Western District of Tennessee, Northern District of Mississippi, Northern District of Georgia, Eastern District of Tennessee, Northern District of Alabama, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the Western District of Kentucky. Educated at Rhodes College at Memphis graduating in 1970, Law degree received in 1976 from the University of Memphis. Mr. Edwards was selected as one of the "top 100" attorneys in the State of Tennessee, 2009 Mid-South Super Lawyers, nomination and blue ribbon review process. In 2015 became a Fellow to the Tennessee Bar Foundation. His practice areas include medical, legal and accounting malpractice; LASIK eye surgery malpractice; cochlear implant litigation; products liability and contract litigation. Mr. Edwards represents children and adults throughout the United States who received defective HiRes 90K Cochlear Implants manufactured by Advanced Bionics. He was lead counsel in the case of Sadler v. Advanced Bionics that was tried in April 2013 and in which the jury returned a plaintiffs' verdict of $7.25M. Mr. Edwards represented the plaintiff in the case which established the Tennessee standard for an award of punitive damages as well as the plaintiff wherein the Tennessee Court of Appeals held for the first time that a parent was entitled to consortium damages for loss of a child. App. 1992), application for permission to appeal denied; Teamsters Local 515, et al vs. Roadbuilders, Inc. of Tennessee, 291 S.E.2d 698 (Ga. 1982) and Rogers vs. B.F.
