Appointed to the court in 1998, Judge Williams previously was in private practice with the firm Williams & Williams Attorneys at Law in Huntingdon. He is a 1981 graduate of the Cumberland School of Law and holds a bachelors degree in criminal justice from the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Judge Williams is a former president of the Carroll County Bar Association and has been an officer or active member of a number of civic organizations, including the Huntingdon Jaycees, the Huntingdon Lion’s Club, the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Red Cross, Carroll County Habitat for Humanity and Carroll County Ducks Unlimited.
