Kevin graduated from Brown University in 1997 and Cornell Law School in 2000. After law school, and for two summers during law school, Kevin worked for Husch & Eppenberger, LLP (now Husch Blackwell, LLP), a 300-plus lawyer defense firm with a first-rate litigation department. As an associate at Husch, Kevin successfully defended employers in all types of employment cases in state and federal court. In 2003, Kevin came to work for then-Director of Law / now-Mayor Karl Dean at the Nashville Department of Law. He spent the next nine years in the trenches - investigating claims, meeting with witnesses, conducting discovery, taking depositions, trying cases, and briefing and arguing appeals. During that time, Kevin got dozens, if not hundreds, of cases dismissed before trial with no payment to the plaintiff, won numerous jury and bench trials, and successfully briefed and argued cases in front of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, Tennessee Court of Appeals, and Tennessee Supreme Court. In 2011, then-Tennessee Supreme Court Justice William Koch and several other prominent members of the bench and bar selected Kevin to serve as a founding member of the Belmont University Law School Inns of Court. The following year, Kevin joined the faculty of Belmont Law School as an Adjunct Professor of Trial Advocacy. In August 2012, Kevin founded The Klein Law Office, PLLC, where his practice focuses on employment litigation, business litigation, personal injury defense, and municipal defense.
