Marcus is a third-year law student at Belmont University College of Law. Marcus graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. Prior to attending law school, Marcus worked as a Pre-Sentence Investigator and Probation Officer for the Tennessee Board of Probation and Parole for nearly five years in Nashville and Memphis, Tennessee. He is currently serving as a legal intern in the Federal Public Defender's Office for the Middle District of Tennessee. Also, Marcus has previously served as a research assistant to Professor Amy Moore, legal intern in the U.S. Attorneys Office for the Middle District of Tennessee, and legal intern for the Metro-Nashville and Davidson County District Attorney's Office, where he received authorization for law student practice under Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 7. Marcus' current activities include, Belmont Law Board of Advocates (Vice President of Finance and Administration), Student Bar Association Diversity Committee (Former Chair), Black Law Student Association (Vice-President), and Executive Editor of the Southern Journal of Policy and Justice.
