Shelly Wilson joined Robertson, Ingram & Overbey, in June of 1999 as an associate attorney. Shelly became a partner in 2000 and became a named partner in 2005 when the firm changed its name to Robertson, Overbey, Wilson & Beeler. Ms. Wilson’s practice includes Litigation, including Complex Litigation and Antitrust, Commercial and Corporate Law, Municipal and Government Law, Employment Law, and Family Law.
Shelly was born in Saginaw, Michigan, and grew up in Orlando, Florida. Ms. Wilson received her undergraduate degree from Florida Southern College, in Lakeland, Florida, where she graduated cum laude. She earned her law degree from the Stetson University College of Law in St. Petersburg, Florida. Before joining the firm as an associate attorney in 1999, Shelly worked for over eleven years as an Assistant Public Defender for the State of Florida, defending persons charged with a variety of crimes including capital cases. Ms. Wilson is currently admitted to the bars in Florida, Tennessee and the United Stated District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee.
Ms. Wilson is a member of the Florida, Knoxville and Tennessee Bar Associations. She is also a member of the American Bar Association and American Association for Justice. Shelly serves as Co-chair of the Knoxville Bar Association’s CLE Committee and is a member of the KBA Professinalism Committee and Family Law Section. She also serves as the Secretary of the Tennessee Bar Association’s House of Delegates and is a member of the TBA Litigation section where she serves on the Executive Committee. Shelly is also a member of ETLAW, where she is co-chair of the CLE Committee. She is a member of the Knoxville Alumni chapter of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity, serving as its Chief Justice in 2010.
