After graduating from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1992, Thomas Beck spent the next 16 years in the private practice of law with Jones Day in Washington, DC. In 2008, after his nomination by President George W. Bush and unanimous confirmation by the United States Senate, Thomas became the Chairman of the Federal Labor Relations Authority. In 2012, Thomas became the Vice President, Labor Relations for HCA in Nashville. He is the author the legal text "Constitutional Separation of Powers: Cases and Commentary," a book that surveys the powers of the federal government and how those powers are allocated among governmental institutions.
