As a former Assistant District Attorney General in Murfreesboro, Smryna, LaVergne and all Rutherford County, Thomas Parkerson has prosecuted thousands of cases which range from as simple as public intoxication to as complicated as first degree murder. Attorney Thomas Parkerson has been fortunate to gain important trial experience that will be essential in the representation of your legal matter.

Thomas Parkerson is a founding member and managing partner of PARKERSON | SANTEL, PLLC. Thomas began practicing law at the firm of Boston, Holt, Sockwell, and Durham in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee focusing on domestic and civil work such as divorce, child custody and personal injury. He then had the opportunity to begin his extensive criminal background in 2005 with his move to Murfreesboro to the 16th Judicial District District Attorneys Office. As a prosecutor Thomas gained vital experience in the courtroom handling cases that ranged from small misdemeanors to major felonies. After 6 years as a prosecutor Thomas entered into private practice at Bennett, Parkerson, and Bray, an association of attorneys. Taking advantage of his time as a prosecutor he used this knowledge to specifically focus on criminal defense for his clients. In 2014 Thomas and his childhood friend and former prosecutor as well, Tommy Santel, opened the firm of PARKERSON | SANTEL, PLLC. The firm then recruited and employed another former prosecutor, Travis Lampley to give clients the benefit of criminal defense from all former prosecutors. The firm handles all criminal matters, including DUI defense, drug charges, and any misdemeanor or felony.

Thomas is also involved in the community as he is a past, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Rutherford and Cannon County Bar Association. He is a current member of the Rutherford and Cannon County Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association, Murfreesboro Chapter of Inns of Courts, a member of the Noon Rotary Club, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Murfreesboro YMCA, and currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Recovery Court / Drug Court of Rutherford County. Thomas has also provided seminars in the past on domestic violence to the Murfreesboro Police Department and has given lectures on Criminal Defense and procedure for continuing education credit for attorneys. He has also been involved in the Murfreesboro chapter of JDRF to raise awareness and help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

In addition, Thomas coaches his children in soccer, baseball, and basketball and above all enjoys spending time with his family. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 1999 and his law degree from Mississippi College School of Law in 2003. He is licensed to practice in Mississippi and Tennessee.
