Tommy Santel's practice is concentrated in criminal law, insurance defense, governmental litigation and general civil litigation. Having previously served as an Assistant District Attorney General, he has significant courtroom and trial experience. 

Mr. Santel is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Association and the Rutherford and Cannon Counties Bar Association. Mr. Santel is a past President of the Rutherford and Cannon Counties Bar Association. He is the Chairman of the Tennessee Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Division Continuing Legal Education Committee and a member of the Tennessee Bar Association's Mock Trial Committee. Mr. Santel is a graduate of the Tennessee Bar Association's Leadership Law Program. He is the Chairman of Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Advisory Council in Rutherford County. He is involved in youth sports where he volunteers as a coach in baseball and basketball. 

Having an extensive background in criminal law, Mr. Santel has made presentations to law enforcement agencies, educational institutes and community organizations on constitutional criminal law issues. He is an adjunct professor in the Department of Criminal Justice Administration at Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Santel has had the privilege to speak at various Tennessee Bar Association Continuing Legal Education programs. 

Mr. Santel received his undergraduate degree in 2000 from Middle Tennessee State University. He graduated from the Nashville School of Law in 2004. Mr. Santel began his legal career in the Rutherford County District Attorney's Office. He joined Cope, Hudson, Reed & McCreary in 2007. Mr. Santel is licensed to practice in all state courts in Tennessee and the United States District Court for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee.
