W. Scott Sims has been a civil trial lawyer since 1996. He represents clients in both state and federal court, as well as in various forms of alternative dispute resolution. Scott has significant experience in a diverse array of litigation matters, including business, commercial, insurance, professional liability, and personal injury. Scott graduated cum laude from Wheaton College and summa cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif and served on the editorial board of the Tennessee Law Review. Scott subsequently served as law clerk to the Honorable Harry W. Wellford, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Articles authored by Scott have appeared in the Tennessee Law Review and the University of Memphis Law Review. Scott is active in a number of civic and bar organizations. He was President of the Nashville Bar Association in 2008. Scott is a past President of the Young Lawyers Division of the Nashville Bar Association and Middle Tennessee Governor of the Young Lawyers Division of the Tennessee Bar Association. In 2004, Scott was selected for the inaugural class of the Tennessee Bar Association “Leadership Law” Program. Scott has been honored by the Nashville Business Journal as one of the “Best of the Bar” in Nashville and has been named one of the top 150 lawyers in Tennessee by BusinessTN magazine.
