Civility Program Speaker: Christine P. Richards

Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, FedEx Corporation

As executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of FedEx Corporation in Memphis, Christine P. Richards is responsible for ensuring that the company’s global activities are in compliance with international, federal, state and local government regulations. She also is responsible for international and domestic legal, security and government affairs for the company and its subsidiaries. Pior to assuming her current position in 2005, Richards served as corporate vice president for customer and business transactions. She joined FedEx in 1984 from private practice.

Richards earned her bachelors degree from Bucknell University in 1976 and her law degree from Duke University.

She currently serves as secretary for the Dixon Gallery and Gardens Board of Trustees and on the Board of Visitors for the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.

On the Transition Planning Commission, Richards serves as chair of the Human Resources & Personnel Committee.
