The Diversity Leadership Institute (DLI) is a six-month leadership and mentoring program for Tennessee law school students in their second and third years of study (fourth year students at Nashville School of Law also are eligible).

Video Visits Trend Growing at Nation's Prisons

In-person visits to inmates are being eliminated at some prisons, which are turning to new video visitation technology, the ABA Journal reports. In Benton County, Arkansas, visitors will pay 50 cents a minute in 15-minute increments to talk to an inmate. In-person visits will no longer be allowed, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat reports.

Deadline Extended for Law Student Leadership Program

The deadline for law students to apply to the Diversity Leadership Institute, the TBA's six-month leadership development and training program, has been extended to Dec. 21. The program, now in its seventh year, is open to all 2L, 3L and 4L students attending a Tennessee law school. The goal of the institute is to develop skills to succeed as a law student and attorney, empower students to contribute more to the legal community, match students to mentors in a diverse variety of practice areas and build relationships among students of diverse backgrounds.
