TBA Announces 2015 Pro Bono Awards

Nashville lawyers, Memphis law student to be recognized for commitment to pro bono

NASHVILLE, Nov. 3, 2014 — Two Nashville lawyers and a recent University of Memphis School of Law graduate will be honored with the state’s top pro bono and public service awards at a ceremony in January.

The awards will be presented by the Tennessee Bar Association at its 2015 Public Service Luncheon on Jan. 10 at the War Memorial Auditorium in Nashville. Held each year as part of the association’s Leadership Conference, the luncheon also will feature remarks by TBA President Jonathan Steen and other leaders from the legal community.

NASHVILLE, Aug. 7, 2014 – The Tennessee Bar Association today received the LexisNexis Community and Educational Outreach Award for production and distribution of the 2014 Legal Handbook for Tennessee Seniors. The award, given each year by the National Association of Bar Executives (NABE), was presented to the TBA during the NABE Annual Meeting in Boston.

NASHVILLE, July 23, 2014 – For the second consecutive year, the Tennessee Bar Association earned the top public service award from the Tennessee Society of Association Executives. The Legal Handbook for Tennessee Seniors won the Association’s Advance Tennessee Award as the best public service project by an association in the state. NASHVILLE, June 25, 2014 – Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Gary R. Wade was honored with the Tennessee Bar Association's Justice Frank F. Drowota III Outstanding Judicial Service Award for his outstanding and dedicated service to the courts and the legal community. The award was presented by outgoing TBA President Cindy Wyrick at a luncheon in Gatlinburg. Former Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Drowota also was on hand to assist in the presentation.
