BackgroundFacts    ThefatherisastaffsergeantintheUnitedStatesArmy.Themotherhasachildfromapreviousrelationship.Saidchildhasalearningdisability.ThepartiesweremarriedMarch1,1991,separatedinOctober1995,andweredivorcedJune12,1997.FromthetimeoftheirmarriageuntilMarch1997,thefatherwasstationedatFortCampbellneartheresidenceoftheparties.   ProceedingsinTrialCourt    OnNovember3,1995,themotherfiledacomplaintfordivorceinwhichtheonlygroundsstatedwere,verbatim,asfollows:   `  Perhapstheprincipalreasonplaintiffwantsadivorceisthedefendantsmentalandphysicalabuseofherthirteenyearoldsonbyapriormarriagewhoishandicappedbyattentiondeficitdisorderandishyperactive.Livinginthesamehouseashisstepfatherhascausedthischildseriouspsychologicaldamage.Inadditiontothatchild,plaintiffhasanotherchildbythedefendantandaliveinnanny.Itwouldbemucheasierforthedefendanttoleavethemaritalresidencethanforplaintiffandherthreedependentstodoso. OnNovember14,1996,thefatherfiledananswerdenyingallegationsofthecomplaintandacounterclaimalleginginappropriatemaritalconductandirreconcilabledifferencesandprayingforanabsolutedivorce,divisionofmaritalestateandchildcustodyandsupport. OnNovember27,1996,theTrialCourtentereda FinalDecreeofdivorcefromBedandBoard,dismissingthemotherscomplaint,grantingthefatheradivorce amensaetthoro(frombedandboard),custodyofthechild,withvisitationbythemother,andchildsupport. X   S    OnJanuary16,1997,theTrialCourtenteredthefollowingagreedorder:   `  COMENOWtheparties,andbyagreement,asevidencedbythesignaturesoftheirrespectivecounsel,announcetothisHonorableCourtthat,therebeingnohopeofreconciliation,andtheDefendantspermanentchangeofstationhavingbeenestablishedasFortBenning,Georgia,theBedandBoardDivorceshouldbeconvertedtoanAbsoluteDivorce. ITISTHEREFOREORDEREDthatthedivorceamensaetthoroenteredbythisCourtonthe4thdayofMarch,1996,beconvertedtoanAbsoluteDivorce,therebyrestoringbothpartiestoallrightsandprivilegesofunmarriedpersons. X    S    OnJanuary24,1997,theTrialCourtenteredanorderpermittingthefathertomovewiththechildtoFt.Benning,Ga.,andprovidingvisitationwiththemother. Asstatedabove,thesoleissueonappealiscustody. TheconsiderationsforchoosingwhichparentshouldreceivecustodyarelistedinTCA366106.However,anadditionalfactorweighsheavilyinthepresentcase.Theevidenceshowswithoutcontradictionthat,atbothFt.CampbellandFt.Benning,theArmyprovidessuperlativehealthandchildcarefacilities.Whatevertheshortcomingsofeitheroftheparents,theArmyfacilitiesprovidethedecisivefactorinthepresentcase. Thechildsbestinterestistheparamountconsideration.Bahv.Bah,Tenn.App.1983,668S.W.2d663. TrialCourtsarevestedwithwidediscretioninthedeterminationofchildcustody.Suchdecisionsareentitledtogreatweightonappealandwillnotbereversedabsentaclearshowingofanimproperanderroneousexerciseofthatdiscretion.Harwellv.Harwell,Tenn.App.1980,612S.W.2d182;Abneyv.Abney,61Tenn.App.531,456S.W.2d364(1970);Marminov.Marmino,34Tenn.App.352,238S.W.2d105(1951.
