Therecordcontainsnotranscriptoftheproceedingsbeforethetrialjudge.Counselforappellantprovidedinhisappellatebriefthefollowingversionoftheeventsattrialwhich,forthepurposeofconsideringthispetition,weshalladoptastrue:8 BothpartiesandtheircounselappearedbeforetheCourtonthemorningofSeptember5,1997.CounselforWifeexplainedtotheCourttheyhadagreedtoadivorcebasedonstipulatedgrounds.Thepartieshadveryfewitemsofpersonalpropertyandnorealproperty.Basically,theagreementgrantedWifeadivorceonthegroundsofinappropriatemartial[sic]conduct.ItfurtherprovidedHusbandwouldpaythepartiesdebts,wouldprovideWifewithavehicle,wouldreimburseaportionofWifesattorneysfeesandwouldpayrehabilitativealimonyforaperiodoftwoyears.Theagreementalsoprovidedforreasonablestepparentvisitation.CounselforWifeannouncedtotheCourtthatithadbeenWifesintentiontononsuithercountercomplaintandproceedtodefendingherselfagainstthedivorce,onthebasishehadnogroundsfordivorce.TheCourtplacedbothpartiesunderoathandtheyagreedthiswastheiragreement.
