Weaffirmthejudgmentofthetrialcourt. Onappeal,theappellantarguesthatthecourtlackedjurisdictionto"impose"sentencebecausethecapiaswasvoidpursuanttoTenn.CodeAnn.406206(Supp.1994).Thecourtimposedsentencein1983,soweassumethattheappellantisarguingthatthecourtlackedjurisdictiontoorderexecutionofthesentence. Tenn.CodeAnn.406206provides: 8 TimeofissuanceandreturnMisdemeanorcases. Anyprocess,warrant,preceptorsummonsauthorizedtobeissuedbyanyofthejudgesorclerksofthecourt,inanycriminalprosecutiononbehalfofthestate,maybeissuedatanytimeandmadereturnabletoanydayoftheterm.Inamisdemeanorcase,ifsuchaprocess,warrant,preceptorsummonshasnotbeenserved,returnedorquashedwithinfive(5)yearsfromthedateofitsissuance,suchprocess,warrant,preceptorsummonsshallbeautomaticallyterminatedandremovedfromtherecords. Thelegislativehistoryintherecordindicatesthatthisisastatuteoflimitationsformisdemeanorprocesses.Thebillwasdesignedasa    housecleaningmeasuretounclogthecomputersandridthejusticesystemof    stale,unserved,unadjudicatedcases.̀ Weholdthatthewarrantisvalidbecausethestatuteisinapplicabletotheappellant.Courtswillgivestatutorytermstheirwellrecognizedcommonlawmeaningaslongasdoingsoisconsistentwiththeremainderofthestatuteandisharmoniouswithitsgeneralpurpose.Davenportv.ChryslerCreditCorp.818S.W.2d23,28(Tenn.Ct.App.1991).Thestatutereads"any...warrant...inanycriminalprosecution."Criminalprosecutionhasconcludedwhenanaccusedisadjudicatedguiltyandissentenced.Thisappellanthasbeenprosecutedandconvicted.Sentencewasimposed.InthecontextofTenn.CodeAnn.406206,criminalprosecutiondoesnotencompasswarrantsissuedforexecutionofsentenceafteradefendantisconvicted.
