Rose,523S.W.2d930(Tenn.1975).Whenadefendantclaimsineffectiveassistanceofcounsel,the x  standardappliedbythecourtsofTennesseeis"whethertheadvicegivenortheservicerenderedby ^  theattorneyiswithintherangeofcompetencedemandedbyattorneysincriminalcases." H  ` Barronalsoclaimedthatcounselnevertoldhimhecouldchallengethestates  d valuationofthestolenproperty,whichmightaffecttheleveloftheoffenseswithwhichhewas  J charged.CounseltestifiedthatBarroninitiallyinsisteduponaninnocencedefense,sothevalueof  0 thepropertywasirrelevant.Moreover,therecordreflectsthatBarronwasawareofthispossibility    becausehisfirstattorneyhadchallengedthevalueofthepropertywhenthecasewasingeneral    sessionscourt.Inanyevent,Barronpresentednoevidenceatthepostconvictionhearingto   substantiateanycomplaintthatthestatesvaluationofthestolenpropertywasinflated. x   ` Afterhearingtheevidence,thetrialcourtruledthatthepetitionerhadfailedtocarry D  hisburdenofprovinghisclaimofineffectiveassistanceofcounsel.Insodoing,thecourtaccredited *z  thetestimonyoftrialcounseloverthatofthepetitioner.Uponreviewoftherecord,wecannotsay ` thattheevidencepreponderatestothecontrary.Thus,thetrialcourtproperlydismissedthisclaim.
