Itisfromthetrialjudge'sorderofconsecutivesentencesthatthedefendantappeals,contendingthatthetrialcourtabuseditsdiscretion.  Therecordrevealsthatthedefendanthadthreepriorconvictionsformisdemeanorescapecharges,aconvictionfor"stealing"onApril2,1994,whichresultedinafouryearprobationaryperiod,fourpriorDUIconvictions,andfivepreviousconvictionsfordrivingwhilehislicensewasinrevokedstatus.Thetrialcourtfoundthatthedefendanthadanextensivecriminalhistoryandwasadangerousoffender.Wefindthatthedefendant'spriorcriminalhistoryjustifiesconsecutivesentencesinthattheyevidenceahistoryofextensivecriminalactivityandthetypeofoffenses,includingthepresentoffense,indicatethatthedefendanthaslittleornoregardforhumanlifeandnohesitationtocommitoffenseswheretherisktohumanlifeishighandisthereforeadangerousoffender.Thedefendant'srecordsupportsafindingthatanextendedsentenceisnecessarytoprotectthepublicagainstfurthercriminalconductbythedefendant.Wealsofindthattheconsecutivesentencesreasonablyrelatetotheseverityoftheoffensescommitted.
