Theappellantandthreemenwereconsumingalcoholicbeveragesataroominghouse.Theappellantandoneofthemendrovetoalocalrestaurantandpickedupsomechicken.Whentheappellantandthemanreturnedwiththechicken,themanrefusedtosharehischickenwiththeappellant.Theappellantgotirateandlefttheroom.Approximatelyfourminuteslater,theappellantreturnedwithagun.Heapproachedthemanwiththechickenandasked,"What'supwiththechicken?"Apparently,theman'sresponsewasunfavorable,sotheappellantshothim.Themandiedofgunshotwoundstotheheadandchest.Anothervictimwasshotbutlived.Thethirdpersonfledforhislife. Theappellantarguesthatthetrialjudgeabusedhisdiscretioninassessingtheweighttobeaffordedeachenhancingandmitigatingfactor.Itwasincumbentupontheappellanttopreparearecordthatincludedallmaterialsnecessaryfordispositiononappeal.SeeStatev.Beech,744S.W.2d585,588(Tenn.Crim.App.1987)(holding"intheabsenceofanadequaterecordwemustpresumethatthetrialcourt'srulingwasadequatelysupportedbytheevidence.").Theappellant'spresentencereportisnotapartoftherecordbeforeus. Uponconductingadenovoreview,wefindfiveenhancementfactorsapplicable:(1)theappellanthasaprevioushistoryofcriminalactivity,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035114(1);(2)theoffenseinvolvedmorethanonevictim,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035114(3);(3)theappellantpossessedandemployedafirearmduringthecommissionoftheoffense,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035114(9);(4)theappellanthadnohesitationaboutcommittingacrimewhentherisktohumanlifewashigh,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035114(10);and(5)thecrimewascommittedundercircumstancesunderwhichthepotentialforbodilyinjurytoavictimwasgreat,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035114(16). 7   ׀Wefindonemitigatingfactorapplicable:theappellantpossessedalackofsubstantialjudgmentorinabilitytoappreciatethenatureofhisconduct.Tenn.CodeAnn.4035113(6). TheappellantisaRangeIstandardoffender.HehasbeenconvictedofaClassAfelony.Hissentencerangeis15to25years.Inaccordancewiththeprinciplesofsentencing,wearetobeginattheminimumrangesentence.Weincreaseforeachenhancementfactorandthenreduceforeachmitigatingfactor.Theweightaffordedeachfactorisderivedfrombalancingtherelativedegreeofculpabilitywithinthetotalityofthecircumstances.Statev.Bilbrey,816S.W.2d71(Tenn.Crim.App.1991).
