'   ׀Inthisappeal,theappellantspecificallycontendsthatthetrialcourtfailedtoconsiderapplicablemitigatingfactorswhichresultedinanexcessivesentence. Whenadefendantchallengesthelengthofthesentencesimposedbythetrialcourt,thiscourtconductsadenovoreviewconditioneduponthepresumptionthatthedeterminationofthetrialcourtiscorrect.Tenn.CodeAnn.4035401(d)(1990).Thispresumptiononlyappliesiftherecorddemonstratesthatthetrialcourtproperlyconsideredrelevantsentencingprinciples.Statev.Ashby,823S.W.2d166,169(Tenn.1991).Wefindthattherecordsodemonstrates;thus,thepresumptionapplies.Furthermore,theappellant,andnottheState,bearstheburdenofshowingthatthesentencesimposedwereimproper.SentencingCommissionComments,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035401. Attheconclusionofthesentencinghearing,thetrialcourtfoundthreeenhancementfactorsapplicable,(1)thedefendanthasaprevioushistoryofcriminalconvictions;(8)thedefendanthasaprevioushistoryofunwillingnesstocomplywiththeconditionsofasentenceinvolvingreleaseinthecommunity;and(13)thatthefelonywascommittedwhilethedefendantwasonparolefromapriorfelonyconviction.Tenn.CodeAnn.4035114(1),114(8),114(13)(1995Supp.).Thesefactorsarenotchallengedinthisappeal.Additionally,thetrialcourtfoundonemitigatingfactorappropriateforconsideration,(1)thedefendant'scriminalconductneithercausednorthreatenedseriousbodilyinjury,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035113(1)(1990),andrejectedtheappellant'sargumentthattwoothermitigatingfactorswereapplicable,namely:(6)thedefendant,becauseofhisyouth,lackedsubstantialjudgmentincommittingtheoffense,and,asanonstatutorymitigator,thatthedefendantenteredguiltypleastoallthreecounts.Tenn.CodeAnn.4035113(6),113(13). Theappellant,atthetimeofsentencing,wastwentyeightyearsoldwithalengthycriminalhistorywhichincludedpriorfelonyconvictionsfordrugoffenses.Thereisnothingintherecordtoindicatethattheappellantlackedsubstantialjudgmentbecauseofhisage.See,e.g.,Statev.Logan,No.02C019609CC00297(Tenn.Crim.App.atJackson,Apr.10,1997);Statev.Leggs,No.01C019511CR00391(Tenn.Crim.App.atNashville,Feb.28,1997).Thecourtproperlyrejectedtheappellant's"youth"asamitigatingfactor.Moreover,althoughthiscourthaspreviouslyupheldconsiderationofguiltypleasasamitigatingfactor,see,e.g.,Statev.Jernigan,No.01C019410CR0033(Tenn.Crim.App.atNashville,Feb.23,1996);Statev.Myers,No.03C019409CR00344(Tenn.Crim.App.atKnoxville,Apr.13,1995),theappellant'smotivationinenteringguiltypleaswasselfserving,sincetheStateagreednottopursuerangeIIsentencinginexchangeforhisguiltypleas,andtherecordindicatesthattheappellantwas"rude,""uncooperative,"and"adamantaboutgoingtotrial."See,e.g.,Statev.Hayes,No.01C019509CC00293(Tenn.Crim.App.atNashville,Oct.24,1996);Statev.Cagle,No.01C019301CC00006(Tenn.Crim.App.atNashville,Nov.18,1993),perm.toappealdenied,(Tenn.Mar.28,1994).Accordingly,wedonotfinderrorinthetrialcourt'ssentencingdecision.Thisissueiswithoutmerit. Theappellantalsoconteststheweightthetrialcourtaffordedtoeachoftheenhancementandmitigatingfactors.ThepresumptivesentenceforarangeIoffenderofaclassBfelonyistheminimumwithintherange,i.e.,eightyears.Tenn.CodeAnn.4035210(b)(e)(1995Supp.);Tenn.CodeAnn.4035112(a)(2).Beginningwiththepresumptivesentence,thetrialcourtmustthen"enhancethesentencewithintherangeasappropriatefortheenhancementfactors,andthenreducethesentencewithintherangeasappropriateforthemitigatingfactors."Id.Thereisnomathematicalformulaindeterminingtheappropriatesentence,rather,theweighttobeaffordedanexistingfactorislefttothetrialcourt'sdiscretionsolongasthecourtcomplieswiththepurposesandprinciplesoftheSentencingActanditsfindingsareadequatelysupportedbytherecord.Statev.Hayes,899S.W.2d175,185(Tenn.Crim.App.),perm.toappealdenied,(Tenn.1995)(citingSentencingCommissionComments,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035210;Statev.Moss,727S.W.2d229,237(Tenn.1986);seeAshby,823S.W.2dat169.).Again,thetrialcourtfound,andweagree,thatthreeenhancementandonemitigatingfactorsareapplicable.Thisissueiswithoutmerit.
