TherecordhereinreflectsthatbyjudgmententeredNovember18,1988,theDefendantwasconvictedofseveraloffensesinthestateofMissouriandwassentencedtoaneffectivesentenceoflifeimprisonmentplussixtyyears.OnNovember5,1994,theDefendantescapedfromtheinstitutioninwhichhewasincarceratedinMissouri.Shortlythereafter,hewaschargedinMissouriwiththeoffenseofescapingfromconfinement.OnNovember15,1994,theDefendantwasapprehendedinMemphis,TennesseebyofficersoftheFederalBureauofInvestigation. Thereafter,theStateofMissouriinitiatedextraditionproceedingsagainsttheDefendant.InresponsetotheformaldemandbytheexecutiveauthorityofMissouri,theGovernorofTennesseeissuedanarrestandextraditionwarrantfortheDefendantonDecember16,1994.TheDefendantfiledapetitionforwritofhabeascorpuschallengingingeneraltermsthevalidityoftheTennesseeGovernor'swarrantdirectingthattheDefendantbeextraditedtoMissouri. Whenreviewingagovernor'sextraditionaction,theroleofthetrialcourtintheasylumstateislimitedtoareviewofthefollowingissues:(1)Whethertheextraditiondocumentsareinorderontheirface;(2)whetherthepetitionerhasbeenchargedwithacrimeinthedemandingstate;(3)whetherthepetitioneristhepersonnamedintherequestforextradition;and(4)whetherthepetitionerisafugitive.Michiganv.Doran,439U.S.282,289,(1978);delaBeckwithv.Evatt,819S.W.2d453,456(Tenn.Crim.App.),perm.toappealdenied,id.(Tenn.1991). Afterconductinganevidentiaryhearinginthecasesubjudice,thetrialcourtspecificallyfoundthesefourfactorstobepresent.Therecordsupportsthefindingsofthetrialcourt. Onthisappeal,theDefendantarguesthat"theextraditiondocumentsarenotinorderontheirface."TheDefendantmakesnospecificargumentconcerningwhatportionofthedocumentshebelievesarenotinorder.Issueswhicharenotsupportedbyargument,citationtoauthorities,orappropriatereferencestotherecordaretreatedaswaivedinthiscourt.Tenn.R.Crim.App.10(b).Thiscourtwillnotconductanindependentsearchforirregularitiesonthefaceoftheextraditiondocuments. TheDefendantalsoarguesthat"thetrialcourterredinappointingtheShelbyCountyPublicDefendertoappealthiscasewhilecontemporaneouslyorderingthatthepetitionerbetakenforthwithtothedemandingstateandrefusingtostayitsorderpendingtheappeal."Ineffect,theDefendantarguesthatthetrialcourterredbyrefusingtostayitsorderbecauseoncetheDefendanthasbeenreturnedtoMissouri,thatstatelegallytakescustodyoftheDefendanteveniftheextraditionproceedingsaresubsequentlyruledinvalid.WhileweacknowledgethedilemmainwhichthetrialcourtplacedcounselfortheDefendantonthisappeal,itisapparentfromthisrecordthattheDefendanthaslongsincebeenreturnedtoMissouriandtheissuesraisedinthisappealare,forallpracticalpurposes,moot. Asageneralrule,Tennesseecourtswillnotentertainacasethatismoot.Acasewillgenerallybeconsideredmootifitnolongerservesasameanstoproviderelieftotheprevailingparty.McIntyrev.Traughber,884S.W.2d134,137(Tenn.App.1994).TheDefendantconcedesthatthisCourtwouldnotbeabletoprovidehimreliefevenifwefounderrorinthejudgmentofthetrialcourt.Oneoftherecognizedexceptionstothemootnessruleinvolvesissuescapableofrepetitionyetevadingreview.Id.Refusingtograntastaypendingappealofanextraditionchallengemaywellbesuchanissue.However,whethertotakeupacaseasanexceptiontothemootnessdoctrineisdiscretionarywiththeappellatecourts.Id.Wechoosenottoconsiderthismootissue. Baseduponourthoroughreviewofthisrecordandtheissuespresentedonappeal,weareunabletoconcludethatthetrialcourterredbydismissingtheDefendant'spetitionforwritofhabeascorpusandorderinghimdeliveredtotheappropriateauthoritiesfromtheStateofMissouri.
