ThisCourtaffirmedtheappellantsconvictionsandsentencesinStatev.Herrod,754S.W.2d627(Tenn.Crim.App.),per.app.denied(Tenn.1988).Thesupremecourtdeniedtheappellant'sapplicationforpermissiontoappealonApril4,1988.ThissuitwasnotfileduntilOctober20,1995,wellbeyondthestatuteoflimitationsinpostconvictioncases.SeeTenn.CodeAnn.4030102(Supp.1990). Theappellantscontentionthatthesentencesimposedbythetrialcourtareillegalistotallywithoutmerit.HepredicateshisargumentonthegroundheshouldhavebeensentencedpursuanttotheTennesseeCriminalSentencingReformActof1989.Thefallacyinthisargumentisthathecommittedthecrimesinquestion,wastried,convictedandsentenced,andtheappealfinalbeforetheeffectivedateoftheAct.TheappellantwasproperlysentencedpursuanttotheTennesseeCriminalSentencingReformActof1982. Theappellantcannotseekreviewofthelengthandmannerofservingsentencesinapostconvictionsuit.Thisistrueunderthe1982Act,Tenn.CodeAnn.4035402(a)(1982),aswellasthe1989Act.Tenn.CodeAnn.4035401(a)(1989).Inotherwords,agroundpredicateduponasentenceimposedbythetrialcourtisnotcognizableinapostconvictionproceedingunlessthesentenceisillegal. Theappellantdidnotchallengehissentencesondirectappeal.Therefore,hewaivedthisissue.
