Pursuanttoanagreement,thedefendantpledguiltytotwocountsofpossessionofmorethanonehalfgramofcocaineforresale.Atthesentencinghearing,DinahEllison,thedefendantsparoleofficer,testifiedthatatthetimeoftheoffensesthedefendantwasonparolefromaconvictionforvoluntarymanslaughter.ThedefendantalsostipulatedthatalongerperiodofincarcerationfordrugoffensesservedasageneraldeterrentandthattherewasaneedforgeneraldeterrenceinLakeCounty. Thedefendant,twentytwoyearsoldatthetimeoftheoffenses,testifiedthathehastwochildrenhesupportsbypaying$50.00perweekinchildsupportforeachchild.Hesaidthatsellingcrackcocainewasnothismainsourceofincomeandthatheonlysolddrugstomakeendsmeet.Thedefendantexpressedplanstogetajobandtoattendcollegetoobtainadegreeinjournalism.Oncrossexamination,thedefendantacknowledgedthatchildrenwerepresentoneachoccasionthathesoldcrackcocainetoanundercoveragent.̛ Thepresentencereportreflectsthatthedefendantgraduatedfromhighschoolandhadbeenemployedbyfivedifferentemployers.Amongthedefendantsskillsiscarpentryandpainting.Althoughthedefendantdeniedanyabuseofalcoholordrugs,headmittedthathehadusedmarijuanasincetheageofeighteenornineteen.Inadditiontohisconvictionforvoluntarymanslaughter,thedefendantwasconvictedasajuvenileofarmedrobbery. Thetrialcourtimposedatenyearsentenceanddeniedalternativesentencing.Insentencingthedefendant,thetrialcourtrecognizedasmitigatingfactors(1)thatthedefendantsconductdidnotcauseorthreatenseriousbodilyinjuryand(2)thatthedefendantenteredaguiltyplea.However,itplacedlittleweightontheentryoftheguiltypleabecausethedefendantacceptedthepleaagreementafterthejurywasselected.Thetrialcourtexpressedgreatconcernoverthedefendantspriorcriminalhistoryandthefactthatthedefendantcommittedthecrimeswhileonparole.Likewise,itstatedthatitconsideredthecircumstancesoftheoffenses,thedefendantspotentialforrehabilitation,andtheneedfordeterrenceofsellingcocaine. Inthisappeal,thedefendantcontendsthatthetrialcourterredbyrefusingtosentencehimtosomealternativetoconfinement,suchasprobationorasentenceundertheCommunityCorrectionsAct.Appellatereviewofsentencingisdenovoontherecordwithapresumptionthatthetrialcourt'sdeterminationsarecorrect.T.C.A.4035401(d),402(d).AstheSentencingCommissionCommentstothesesectionsnote,theburdenisnowontheappealingpartytoshowthatthesentencingisimproper.Thismeansthatifthetrialcourtfollowedthestatutorysentencingprocedure,madefindingsoffactthatareadequatelysupportedintherecord,andgavedueconsiderationandproperweighttothefactorsandprinciplesthatarerelevanttosentencingunderthe1989SentencingAct,wemaynotdisturbthesentenceevenifadifferentresultwerepreferred.Statev.Fletcher,805S.W.2d785,789(Tenn.Crim.App.1991). However,"thepresumptionofcorrectnesswhichaccompaniesthetrialcourt'sactionisconditionedupontheaffirmativeshowingintherecordthatthetrialcourtconsideredthesentencingprinciplesandallrelevantfactsandcircumstances."Statev.Ashby,823S.W.2d166,169(Tenn.1991).Inthisrespect,forthepurposeofmeaningfulappellatereview,  8 thetrialcourtmustplaceontherecorditsreasonsforarrivingatthefinalsentencingdecision,identifythemitigatingandenhancementfactorsfound,statethespecificfactssupportingeachenhancementfactorfound,andarticulatehowthemitigatingandenhancementfactorshavebeenevaluatedandbalancedindeterminingthesentence.T.C.A.4035210(f)(1990).  Statev.Jones,883S.W.2d597,599(Tenn.1994). Inconductingadenovoreview,wemustconsider(1)theevidence,ifany,receivedatthetrialandsentencinghearing,(2)thepresentencereport,(3)theprinciplesofsentencingandargumentsastosentencingalternatives,(4)thenatureandcharacteristicsofthecriminalconduct,(5)anymitigatingorstatutoryenhancementfactors,(6)anystatementthatthedefendantmadeonhisownbehalfand(7)thepotentialforrehabilitationortreatment.T.C.A.4035102,103and210;seeAshby,823S.W.2dat168;Statev.Moss,727S.W.2d229,23637(Tenn.1986). First,wenotethatthedefendantisnoteligibleforprobationbecausehereceivedasentenceinexcessofeightyears.SeeT.C.A.4035303(a).Also,thedefendantisnotstatutorilypresumedtobeafavorablecandidateforasentenceotherthanconfinementfortheseClassBfelonies.SeeT.C.A.4035102(6)(statingthata standardoffenderconvictedofaClassC,DorEfelonyispresumedtobeafavorablecandidateforalternativesentencingoptionsintheabsenceofevidencetothecontrary). Relativetothedefendantsargumentthatacommunitycorrectionssentencewouldhavebeenappropriate,wenotethatthedefendantmettherequirementsforeligibilityforalternativesentencingundertheCommunityCorrectionsActbecausehewasconvictedofadrugrelatedoffensenotinvolvingacrimeagainstaperson.SeeT.C.A.4036106(a)(2).However,eligibilityforacommunitycorrectionssentencedoesnotequatewithentitlement.SeeStatev.Taylor,744S.W.2d919,922(Tenn.Crim.App.1987). Giventhedefendantspriorcriminalhistoryandhiscommissionoftheoffenseswhileonparole,thetrialcourtsdenialofacommunitycorrectionssentenceissupportedbytherecord.Becausethedefendanthasfailedtodemonstratethatthesentenceimposedbythetrialcourtisimproper,thejudgmentofthetrialcourtisaffirmed.
