OnNovember23,1994,petitionerfiledthetwopostconvictionpetitionsnowbeforethecourt.Accordingtothepetitions,theappellantwasconvictedofassaultwithintenttocommitmurderinMay1971,possessionofstolenpropertyinJuly1971,autoburglaryin1979,perjuryinNovember1980,andrapeinOctober1984.Theautoburglaryandperjuryconvictionswerethenusedtoenhancehisrapeconvictiontohabitualcriminalstatus.Petitionerreceivedasentenceoflifeimprisonmentfortherapeconviction.Thatconvictionandsentencewereupheldonappeal.Statev.JimmyWayneWilson,No.717(Tenn.Crim.App.,Knoxville,November14,1986).
