H @C C  NeedforDeterrenceinthePresentCase      TheAppellant'sconvictionsarisefromfiveseparate,consensual,andunprotectedsexual  encounterswiththesamefemalevictimbetweenApril29,1997,andMay3,1997.Thevictimwas  firstalertedtotheAppellantsHIVstatuswhenshediscoveredmedicationthatheinadvertentlyleft  atherhome.Whenshequestionedhimaboutthemedication,theAppellantinformedherthatitwas l partofhistreatmentforlungcancer.Shortlythereafter,thevictimdoubtedtheAppellant's X  explanationandcontactedapharmacist.Thepharmacistinformedherthatthemedicationwasfor D! treatmentofHIV/AIDS.ThevictimconfrontedtheAppellantwiththeinformationandhefinally 0"  admittedthathewasHIVpositive. #l!
