Theappellant,DerrickBurkeen,appealsasofrightfromthetrialcourtsrevocationofhisprobationsentence.Hecontendsthatthetrialcourterredinrevokinghisprobationandinfailingtoconsidersentencingalternativesotherthanincarceration.55#XXXXv#XXXXWe  < affirmthejudgment.5555#XXXX#XXXX    `  OnMay8,1995,theappellantpledguiltytothesale55ofcocaineandwassentencedasaRangeI,StandardOffender,tofouryearsin55the55DepartmentofCorrection,allofwhichwassuspendedexcept55for305555days.Theappellantwasplacedonsupervised5555probationfortheremainderofhissentence.55 `  Thereafter,theappellantwasindicted55forthe55saleof55cocaine,55andapetitiontorevokeprobationwasfiled.TheappellantsprobationwasrevokedonDecember29,1995,andhepledguilty55tothe55saleofover.5gramsofcocaineonJanuary5,1996.HewassentencedtoeightyearsintheDepartmentofCorrectionasaRangeI,StandardOffender,andwasfined$2000.Uponthetrialcourtsrecommendation,theappellantwassenttoWayneCountybootcamp.OnJune19,1996,theappellantwasreleasedfrombootcampandplacedonprobation.Subsequently,6o66O6nAugust8,1996,theappellantwasindictedforthesaleofover.5gramsof55cocaine.55HepledguiltyonNovember1,1996,andwassentencedtoeight55years,allof55whichwassuspended.Hewasplacedonprobationtorunconcurrentlywiththesentences55from55histwopriorconvictions. `  OnMarch12,1997,thetrialcourtissuedaprobationrevocation55warrant,and5555a55hearingwasheldonJuly17,551997.At55therevocationhearing,theappellantsprobationofficertestifiedthattheappellantwas55suppose55<d<toreporttotheprobationofficetwicea55month,however,t#XXXX~#XXXXhe55appellantneverreportedmorethanoncea55month.55Moreover,the 2.4 appellanttestedpositiveforcocaineonOctober25,1996,andsignedanadmissionthathewasusingcocaine.ThelasttimetheappellantreportedwasonDecember10,1996.Theappellanttestifiedthathehadaproblemwithcocaineandwasgoingtohavetostayawayfromthepeoplehenormally55 hung55out55with.55HeplannedtogototheVeterans 95< AdministrationHospitalforrehabilitationand55to55getaseasonaljobraisingtobacco.Theappellantadmittedthathe9wasnotrea9:dytosee:9didnotsee9khelpwithhisdrugproblemuntilfacedwiththepossibilityof55incarceration.55Instead,hequitreportingtoprobationbecausehewasafraidhewouldfailthedrugtests.Basedontheproof,thetrialcourtrevokedtheappellantsprobation55inallthreecases55andorderedthattheappellantservetheremainderofhis55sentences55inconfinement. Inrevokingprobation,thetrialcourtmadethefollowingfindings:8 ` Mr.Burkeenhasaneightyearsentence;reallyadueleightyearsentences.Hewentthrough55theboot55camp.Hewasputbackonprobation.55He55hashadampleopportunityinthesepastmonthstoseektreatmentforhisaddiction. ` (#` Hetellsusitsthepeoplehehangsaroundwith.Thedifficulty,Mr.Burkeen,isthatyouhavetounderstandthatyouarenothangingaroundwiththewrongcrowd.55You55areverymuchapartofthewrongcrowd. ` (#` (# 8 ` Hewantsdrugtreatment,nowthatheisfacingthepenitentiary,buthehadampleopportunityfordrugtreatment,voluntarily,allofthisperiodoftime.Andyethehasdonenothing,exceptcontinuethesamepatternthatgothimintroubleinthefirstplace. NothingworkswithMr.Burkeen.TheCourtsadlyhasnoalternative,sohewillgototheDepartmentofCorrection,andletsseeiftheycanhelphim.55Hes55goingtolearnthehardwaythatnobodycanhelphim,untilheiswillingtohelphimself,andhesnot.
