AssistantDistrictAttorneyGeneral      ChattanoogaHamiltonCounty      CourtsBuilding      Chattanooga,TN37402̀OPINIONFILED________________________AFFIRMEDTHOMAST.WOODALL,JUDGE   OPINION     ThePetitioner,GeorgeWilliamCain,appealstheorderoftheHamiltonCountyCriminalCourtdismissinghispetitionforpostconvictionrelief.Thetrialcourtfoundthatthereliefrequestedwasbarredbythestatuteoflimitationsanddismissedthepetitionwithoutanevidentiaryhearing.Onappeal,thePetitionerarguesthatTennesseeCodeAnnotatedsection4030201etseq.(Supp.1996),providesfora oneyearwindowofopportunitytofileforpostconvictionreliefthroughMay10,1996.Inthealternative,Petitionerarguesthatapplicationofthestatuteoflimitationstohispetitionwouldviolateconstitutionaldueprocessguarantees.FindingnomerittothePetitionersarguments,weaffirmthejudgmentofthetrialcourt.  OnMay30,1995,PetitionerfiledhisprosepetitionforpostconvictionreliefintheCriminalCourtofHamiltonCounty.Inthispetition,heattackedfive(5)felonyconvictionshereceivedinHamiltonCountyCriminalCourtonNovember28,1975,inadditiontoaconvictionforseconddegreemurderintheHamiltonCountyCriminalCourtonNovember30,1984.Thefirstfive(5)convictionsweretheresultofguiltypleas,andtheseconddegreemurderconvictionwastheresultofajurytrial.ThetrialcourtsorderofdismissalstatesthatthiscourtaffirmedtheconvictionforseconddegreemurderinanopinionfiledonDecember2,1985,andthatoursupremecourtdeniedthePetitionersapplicationforpermissiontoappealonMarch25,1986.ThePetitionallegesvariousgroundsforrelief,butinhisappealPetitionerarguesthattheguiltypleahearingsin1975weredoneinamannerinwhichhewasnotadvisedofhisconstitutionalrightsinviolationofRounsavillev.Evatt,733S.W.2d506(Tenn.1987)andBoykinv.Alabama,395U.S.238(1969).  PetitionerarguesthatthedecisionofoursupremecourtinBurfordv.State,845S.W.2d204(Tenn.1992),mandatesthatapplicationofthestatuteoflimitationsinhiscasewouldviolatehisrighttodueprocess.  WeinitiallynotethatinArnoldCarterv.State,_____S.W.2d_____,No.03S019612CR00117,slipop.at2,MonroeCounty(Tenn.,atKnoxville,Sept.8,1997),oursupremecourtruledasfollows: [p]etitionersforwhomthestatuteoflimitationsexpiredpriortotheeffectivedateofthenewAct,i.e.,May10,1995,donothaveanadditionalyearinwhichtofilepetitionsforpostconvictionrelief.Therefore,thereisnomerittoPetitionersargumentthatthePostConvictionProcedureAct,whichwaseffectiveonMay10,1995,grantsa oneyearwindowofopportunitytofileapetitionforpostconvictionreliefregardingclaimswhichhadpreviouslybeenbarredbythestatuteoflimitations.PetitionerhaduntilJuly1,1989inwhichtofileapetitionforpostconvictionreliefattackingthe1975convictionsandtheconvictionforseconddegreemurder.Tenn.CodeAnn.4030102(repealed1995).  NeitherBoykin,adecisionbytheUnitedStatesSupremeCourtfiledin1969,norRounsaville,adecisionofoursupremecourtin1987,statedgroundsforreliefwhicharoseafterthestatuteoflimitationshadexpiredonanyofPetitionersconvictions.Therefore,Burfordisnotapplicable.
