InStatev.Preston,759S.W.2d647,650(Tenn.1988),ourSupremeCourtstatedthatwhenadefendantpleadsguiltyandwishestoreserveacertifiedquestionoflawpursuanttoTenn.R.Crim.P.37(b)(2)(i)or(iv),"thefinalorderorjudgmentfromwhichthetimebeginstoruntopursueaT.R.A.P.3appealmustcontainastatementofthedispositivecertifiedquestionoflawreservedbydefendantforappellatereviewandthequestionoflawmustbestatedsoastoclearlyidentifythescopeandthelimitsofthelegalissuereserved."Id.at650.Itisthedefendant'sresponsibilitytoassurethatthefinalordercomplieswiththeserequirementsandthattherecordonappealcontainstheproceedingsnecessarytoacompletedetermination.Id.  Inthiscase,theappellantfailedtoexplicitlyreservetherighttoappealacertifiedquestionoflawthatwasdispositiveofthecaseasmandatedbyTenn.R.Crim.P.37(b)(2)(i),(iv)andPreston.Thetrialcourtsorderwhichpurportedlycertifiesthequestionoflawwasnotthefinalorderfromwhichthetimebegantoruntopursueanappealasofright.Moreover, thejudgmentsdonotcontainanidentificationofthescopeandlimitsofthelegalissuereservedasrequired.Nordothejudgmentscontainanystatementinsatisfactionofthereservationrequirements,nordotheycontainanystatementthatthequestionisdispositive,allexplicitlyrequiredbyPreston."Statev.Pendergrass,937S.W.2d834,837(Tenn.1996).Nordoesthesentencingorder,whichwasenteredafterthejudgments,refertoanycertifedquestionoflaw.AsourSupremeCourthasstated,these mandatoryrequirementsare unambiguous.Id.Inaddition,theserequirementsapply regardlessofwhathasappearedinpriorpetitions,orders,colloquyinopencourtorotherwise.Preston,759S.W.2dat650.  Forthesereasons,weareprecludedfromconsideringwhetherthetrialcourtproperlydeniedtheappellantsmotiontosuppress.ITIS,THEREFORE,ORDEREDthatthestatesmotionisgrantedandthejudgmentofthetrialcourtisherebyaffirmedpursuanttoRule20,TennesseeCourtofCriminalAppealsRules.Costsaretaxedtotheappellant.
