Therecordonappealreflectsthatthepetitionerwasoriginallychargedwithfirstdegreemurder,buthepledguiltytoseconddegreemurderafterjuryselectionstarted.Thiswasprecipitatedbythefactthatthedefensewasmadeawarethatacodefendantwaswillingtotestifyagainstthepetitionerandhadgivenastatementthatcouldjustifyaconvictionforfirstdegreemurder.Thedefensehadpreviouslyplannedtouseselfdefenseasjustificationforthekilling.Thepetitionersattorneysadvisedhimofhisexposuretoalifesentenceandhewasallowedtogohomeevenwithjurorsselectedtoconsultwithhisfamilybeforeheenteredaplea. Thetrialcourtsdetailedfindingsoffactandconclusionsoflawreflectthatthepetitionertestifiedatthepostconvictionevidentiaryhearingthathisattorneysdidnottellhimwhattodo,onlygivingadvice,andthathehadwantedtoavoidalifeϜsentence.Oneoftheattorneystestified,aswell.Thetrialcourtconcludedthattheattorneyshadpreparedthedefenseandactedprofessionallyandthattheguiltypleawasenteredknowinglyandvoluntarily. Thepetitionerscontentionsinthisappealarethesameasheraisedinthetrialcourt.However,therecordbeforeusdoesnotcontainatranscriptofthepostconvictionevidentiaryhearingatwhichthepetitionerandtheoneofhis񛀜attorneystestified.Anappellanthasthedutytoincludeintherecordonappealalltrialcourteventsthatare 706 relevanttotheissuespresentedonappeal.SeeT.R.A.P.24(a).Intheabsenceofa  completerecord,wemustpresumethatthetrialcourtsrulingontheissueiscorrect.SeeStatev.Bennett,798S.W.2d783,789(Tenn.Crim.App.1990).
