Fromtherecord,itappearsthatthepetitionerpledguiltytoseveraloffensesinBedfordCountyonNovember10,1994,andwassentencedtoaneffectivesentenceoffiveyears.Therecordalsoreflectsthatthepetitionerwassentencedforaparoleviolationatthesametime.Thereafter,thejudgmentsinBedfordCountyweresetaside,andeventually,theindictmentforthesechargeswasdismissedbasedonthegrandjuryreturningasupersedingindictment.Subsequently,thepetitionerappearstohavepledguiltytolarcenyandtheft,receivinganeffectivesentenceofthreeyears.ThepetitioneralsopledguiltytoburglaryinCoffeeCountyonMay8,1996,andreceivedaconcurrentthreeyearsentence.Althoughnotintherecord,thereisacertifiedcopyofanorderdismissingthecaseattachedtothepetitionersbrief.  OnOctober9,1997,thepetitionerfiledahabeascorpuspetition,arguingthattimeservedandcreditsearnedonhissentencesthatweresetasideinBedfordCountyshouldbeappliedtohismorerecentsentencesfromCoffeeCounty.Indenyingrelief,thetrialcourtheldthatafterreviewingtheCoffeeCountyjudgmentsatfacevalue,thesentenceshadnotexpired.Althoughthepetitioneriscurrentlyreleasedonparole,hearguesthatparoleconstitutesarestraint.  Itisawellestablishedprincipleoflawthattheremedyofhabeascorpusislimitedinitsnatureanditsscope.Archerv.State,851S.W.2d157,161162(Tenn.1993);Passarellav.State,891S.W.2d619,626(Tenn.Crim.App.1994).InTennessee,habeascorpusreliefisavailableonlyif"'itappearsuponthefaceofthejudgmentortherecordoftheproceedingsuponwhichthejudgmentisrendered,'thataconvictingcourtwaswithoutjurisdictionorauthoritytosentenceadefendant,orthatadefendant'ssentenceofimprisonmentorotherrestrainthasexpired."Archerv.State,851S.W.2d157,164(Tenn.1993)(citationomittedinoriginal).Inthepresentcase,onthefaceofthejudgments,thepetitionerssentencehasnotexpired.Timeservedonotheroffenses,regardlessofwhetherthoseconvictionshavesincebeenreversed,isnotrelevant.See,e.g.,Triggv.State,523S.W.2d375,376(Tenn.Crim.App.1975).
