Ðtruck€they€could€find€to€retrieve€all€of€the€property.€€He€estimated€the€value€of€the€recovered€propertyÐ º" ! Ðat€approximately€$250,000.€€They€did€not,€however,€recover€all€of€the€items€stolen,€and€he€estimatedÐ £#ó" Ðthat€thousands€of€dollars€worth€of€property€taken€in€the€crimes€still€was€unrecovered.€€Ð Œ$Ü# ÐÌà  àDetective€Keisling€said€that€the€defendant€and€his€two€codefendants€committed€seventy€toÐ ^&®!% Ðeighty€residential€burglaries,€and€theirs€was€the€largest€burglary€ring€he€had€seen€in€his€ten€years€atÐ G'—"& Ðthe€sheriffððs€department.€€In€his€opinion,€the€defendant€was€the€ringleader€of€these€burglaries.€€HeÐ 0(€#' Ðalso€said€that€the€defendant€admitted€to€being€the€ringleader.Ð )i$( ÐÌà  àDetective€Tony€Phillips€of€the€Williamson€County€Sheriffððs€Department€testified€that€heÐ ë*;&* Ðinvestigated€several€burglaries€in€Williamson€County,€and€authorities€were€able€to€apprehend€theÐ Ô+$'+ Ðdefendant€when€one€of€the€Williamson€County€victims,€Barbara€Jean,€came€home€and€found€a€greenÐ ° Ðpickup€truck€in€her€driveway.€€Ms.€Jean€said€a€white€female,€who€was€later€identified€as€codefendantÐ ™é ÐNelson,€was€driving€the€truck,€and€when€she€saw€Ms.€Jean,€she€turned€the€truck€around€to€exit€theÐ ‚Ò Ðdriveway.€€At€that€time,€Ms.€Jean€saw€the€defendant€run€from€the€left€side€of€the€house€and€get€intoÐ k» Ðthe€truck.€€Ms.€Jean€called€the€authorities€and€gave€them€a€description€of€the€vehicle.€€DetectiveÐ T¤ ÐPhillips€said€that€the€back€door€of€Ms.€Jeanððs€residence€had€been€kicked€in,€but€nothing€had€beenÐ =  Ðtaken.€€Ms.€Jean€was€frightened€and€upset€as€a€result€of€the€incident.€€He€also€stated€that€theÐ & v Ðdefendant€generally€committed€these€burglaries€during€the€daytime€hours,€and€that,€other€than€Ms.Ð  _ ÐJean,€no€other€victims€had€contact€with€him€during€the€course€of€the€crimes.Ð ø H Ðà  àÌà  àDetective€Phillips€said€that€the€defendant€assisted€in€the€recovery€of€some€of€the€stolenÐ Ê   Ðproperty.€€He€also€testified€that€this€was€the€largest€burglary€ring€he€had€seen€in€his€twelve„yearÐ ³  Ðcareer€and€that€after€the€defendant€and€codefendants€were€arrested,€the€burglary€rate€in€WilliamsonÐ œì  ÐCounty€ð ðconsiderably€slowed€down.ððÐ …Õ  ÐÌà  àDavid€Pratt€of€the€Tennessee€Department€of€Probation€and€Parole,€who€prepared€theÐ W§  Ðdefendantððs€presentence€report,€testified€that€the€defendant€had€a€prior€felony€evading€arrestÐ @ Ðconviction€in€Rutherford€County,€and€his€probation€for€that€offense€had€been€revoked€on€April€27,Ð )y Ð1998,€with€his€sentence€expiring€on€March€21,€2001.€€He€also€said€that€the€defendantððs€juvenileÐ b Ðrecord€included€a€forgery€conviction€which€would€have€been€a€felony€had€he€been€an€adult,€that€theÐ ûK Ðdefendant€admitted€having€an€extensive€juvenile€record,€and€that€the€defendant€was€confined€inÐ ä4 Ðjuvenile€facilities€from€age€16€to€19.€€€€Ð Í Ðà  àÌà  àOn€cross„examination,€Pratt€said€that€the€defendant€admitted€having€a€cocaine€habit€thatÐ Ÿï Ðbegan€when€he€was€16,€and,€immediately€prior€to€his€arrests€in€the€present€cases,€his€daily€use€ofÐ ˆØ Ðcocaine€was€costing€him€about€$3500€per€week.€€When€asked€whether€the€defendant€had€a€stableÐ qÁ Ðfamily€background,€Pratt€responded:€€(1)€the€defendantððs€parents€divorced€when€he€was€very€young;Ð Zª Ð(2)€juvenile€records€indicated€that€custody€of€the€defendant€when€he€was€a€child€was€an€issue;€(3)Ð C“ Ðduring€his€teenaged€years,€the€defendant€was€removed€from€his€home€and€placed€in€juvenile€custody;Ð ,| Ðand€(4)€the€defendant€was€not€married€and€did€not€report€having€any€children.€€He€said€that€theÐ e Ðdefendant€was€cooperative€during€the€interview.Ð þN Ѐ€€€€€Ð ç 7 Ðà  àPratt€said€that€the€defendant€was€on€probation€when€he€committed€the€offenses€in€IndictmentÐ Ð!
