Ðsigning€the€document€in€question,€he€was€waiving€his€right€to€counsel.€€The€petitioner€conceded€thatÐ  d Ðhe€never€requested€counsel€but€asserted,€ð àThe€State€presented€the€testimony€of€Judge€John€Wesley€Jones.€Judge€Jones€statedÐ ^®  Ðthat€he€presided€over€the€Sumner€County€General€Sessions€Court€and€remembered€the€petitionerÐ D”  Ðð ðrather€vividly.ðð€€Judge€Jones€recounted€that,€on€the€day€of€the€petitionerððs€trial€for€assault,€theÐ *z  Ðdocket€included€only€those€cases€in€which€a€criminal€complaint€had€been€filed€by€a€private€citizen.€Ð `
