Šthat€Defendant€called€her€from€jail€and€told€her€to€drop€the€charges.€€Defendant€threatened€Ms.Š ¢#ņ" ŠHanna€that€he€š šcould€get€heršš€even€if€he€was€in€jail.Š ‹$Ū# ŠĢą  ąMs.€Bratcher€testified€that€she€was€asleep€during€the€altercation€on€March€17.€€She€said€herŠ ]&­!% Šmother€woke€her€up€and€that€Ms.€Hanna€was€hysterical€and€bleeding€from€a€cut€on€the€lip.€€Ms.Š F'–"& ŠHanna€told€Ms.€Bratcher€that€Defendant€had€hit€her.€€Ms.€Bratcher€said€that€Defendant€was€notŠ /(#' Šallowed€to€come€to€their€home€but€that€he€generally€showed€up€two€or€three€times€a€week.€€As€farŠ )h$( Šas€Ms.€Bratcher€knew,€Ms.€Hanna€did€not€initiate€any€contact€with€Defendant€from€March,€2000€toŠ *Q%) ŠMarch,€2001.Š ź*:&* ŠŠ Ó+#'+ Šą  ąTammy€Anderson,€Ms.€Hannaššs€niece,€testified€that€she€worked€with€Ms.€Hanna.€€One€dayŠ ° Šin€March,€2001,€Ms.€Hanna€came€to€work€with€bruise€marks€around€her€neck€and€a€cut€lip.€€Ms.Š ™é ŠHanna€was€upset€and€scared€on€this€occasion.€€Ms.€Anderson€also€testified€that€she€knewŠ ‚Ņ ŠDefendantššs€voice€and€heard€a€message€on€the€answering€machine€at€work€from€Defendant€to€Ms.Š k» ŠHanna€threatening€Ms.€Hanna€that€there€was€š šgoing€to€be€trouble.ššŠ T¤ ŠĢą  ąOfficer€Eric€Anderson€with€the€Franklin€Police€Department€responded€to€Ms.€Hannaššs€callŠ & v Šon€March€24,€2001.€€Officer€Anderson€testified€that€Ms.€Hanna€was€visibly€upset€and€was€shakingŠ  _ Šand€crying.€€He€accompanied€Ms.€Hanna€to€the€police€department€where€she€swore€out€a€warrant€forŠ ų H ŠDefendantššs€arrest.€€Officer€Anderson€also€took€out€a€warrant€for€Defendantššs€arrest€for€violationŠ į 1  Šof€the€conditions€of€his€bond€issued€in€connection€with€the€March€17€incident.€€On€cross„Š Ź   Šexamination,€Officer€Anderson€said€that€his€police€report€did€not€reflect€that€Defendant€touched€Ms.Š ³  ŠHanna€during€the€altercation.Š œģ  ŠĢą  ąWillie€Hayes,€Defendantššs€uncle,€testified€that€he€had€not€spoken€with€Ms.€Hanna€fromŠ n¾  ŠMarch,€2000€to€March,€2001€and€did€not€see€Ms.€Hanna€with€Defendant€during€this€period€of€time.Š W§  ŠĢą  ąDawn€Hayes,€Defendantššs€aunt,€testified€that€Ms.€Hanna€telephoned€and€spoke€withŠ )y ŠDefendant€several€times€while€Defendant€was€staying€with€her.€€On€cross„examination,€Ms.€HayesŠ b Šwas€not€able€to€state€with€certainty€when€these€calls€were€made.Š ūK ŠĢą  ąMary€Ō_ŌHardemonŌ_Ō,€Defendantššs€mother,€testified€that€Ms.€Hanna€called€Defendant€severalŠ Ķ Štimes,€mostly€on€weekends,€while€Defendant€was€staying€with€her€after€his€divorce.€Š ¶ ŠĢą  ąMary€Carter,€Defendantššs€aunt,€testified€that€Defendant€also€stayed€with€her€at€some€pointŠ ˆŲ Šduring€the€period€from€March,€2000€to€March,€2001.€€She€said€that€Defendant€and€Ms.€Hanna€visitedŠ qĮ Šher€one€time€and€seemed€friendly€with€each€other.€€On€cross„examination,€however,€Ms.€Carter€saidŠ ZŖ Šthat€she€could€not€remember€exactly€when€that€visit€took€place,€only€that€Defendant€and€Ms.€HannaŠ C“ Švisited€some€time€after€Ms.€Carterššs€grandmother€died€in€August,€1999.Š ,| ŠĢą  ąDefendant€testified€that€he€learned€about€the€protective€order€in€May€or€June,€2000.€€HeŠ žN Šbelieved,€however,€that€the€protective€order€was€no€longer€in€effect€because€he€and€Ms.€Hanna€hadŠ ē 7 Šstarted€seeing€each€other€again€during€that€year€and€had€resumed€a€sexual€relationship.€€DefendantŠ Š!   Šsaid€that€Ms.€Hanna€told€him€š šnot€to€worryšš€about€the€protective€order.€Defendant€said€that€he€andŠ ¹" !
