Onappeal,appellantdoesnotcontesttherevocationofhisalternativesentence.Hedoeschallenge,however,thetrialcourtsrefusaltogranthimcreditfortimeservedwhileinthecommunitycorrectionsprogram.FindingthetrialcourtinϜerrorindenyingappellantsuchcredit,wereversethatportionofthetrialcourtsϜjudgmentandremandforanewsentencinghearing. Whenrevokingappellantscommunitycorrectionssentence,thetrialcourtstated:8 Imnotgoingtobumpyouupintherange.Iprobablycould,butImnotgoingtodoit.ImgoingtoviolateyourCommunityCorrectionsandletyougototheTennesseeDepartmentofCorrections[sic]andserveyourtime.YouwillnotgetcreditforanytimeyouvebeenonCommunityCorrectionsexceptthetimeyouactuallyspentinjailandIwanttheordertoreflectthat,Ms.Lockert.Suchadenialisclearlycontrarytothestatutorymandate.TheCommunityCorrectionsActof1985provides:8 Thecourtshallalsopossessthepowertorevokethesentenceimposedatanytimeduetotheconductofthedefendantortheterminationormodificationoftheprogramtowhichthedefendanthasbeensentenced,andthecourtmayresentencethedefendanttoanyappropriatesentencingalternative,includingincarceration,foranyperiodoftimeuptothemaximumsentenceprovidedfortheoffensecommitted,lessanytimeactuallyservedinanycommunitybasedalternativetoincarceration.̀Tenn.CodeAnn.4036106(e)(4)(Supp.1996)(emphasisadded).Underthedirectiveofthisstatute,itwaserrorforthetrialcourttodenyappellantcreditforthetimehehadalreadyservedinthecommunitycorrectionsprogram.SeeStatev.ReginaldSearcy,No.01C019205CC00153(Tenn.Crim.App.atNashville,November12,1992);Statev.RandyA.Thomas,No.01C019102CR00042(Tenn.Crim.App.atNashville,December5,1991). TheStatearguesthatthetrialcourtpossessedtheauthoritytoincreaseappellantssentenceandthatthedenialoftimeservedessentiallyaccomplishesthesamepurpose,i.e.itincreasesthetimehewillspendincarcerated.Asaresult,itarguesthatthetrialcourtserrorwasharmless.Wedisagree.Hadthetrialcourtintendedtoincreaseappellantssentence,anewsentencinghearingwouldhavebeennecessarywiththetrialcourtfollowingtheproperstatutoryprocedure,consideringenhancingandmitigatingfactorstojustifyanyincreasedsentence.SeeStatev.Ervin,939S.W.2d581,583(Tenn.Crim.App.1996).Denyinganappellantcreditfortimeservedisnotapermissiblesubstituteforthisprocedure.BecausetheϜtrialcourthasauthoritytoincreaseappellantssentenceandappellantmustbegivencreditfortimehehasalreadyservedincommunitycorrections,anewsentencinghearingisnecessarysothatthetrialcourtmayproperlyexerciseitsauthorityunderthestatute.SeeTenn.CodeAnn.4036106(e)(4)(Supp.1996). Althoughnotraisedbyappellant,anothererrorappearsonthefaceoftherecord.TheStateandtheappellantapparentlyagreedattherevocationhearingthatappellantwasservingasix(6)yearsentence.Otherdocumentsintherecordalsoreflectsuchsentence.However,thejudgmentformsconflictwiththatsentencelength.Forexample,CountIindicatesitisconsecutivetoCountsIIandIII.CountIIindicatesthatitisconsecutivetoCountsIandIII.Incontrast,thejudgmentformforCountIIIreflectsthatitisconcurrenttoCountsIandII.Baseduponthisinformation,appellantseffectivesentenceappearstobefour(4)years.Wenotethatappellantdidnotobjecttothecharacterizationofhissentenceassix(6)yearsattherevocationhearingandhisbriefisvoidofanyreferencetothesentencelength.AfterϜconductinganewsentencinghearing,thetrialcourtshouldensurethecorrectsentencelengthisclearlyindicatedonthejudgmentforms.
