AFFIRMED  @8.2  JOHNH.PEAY,  ;15 Judge  <379 X  @:; %XXIOPINION#XIX%#Ԉ `     OnDecember2,1997,thedefendantwasfoundguilty,byajury,offorgeryinanamountlessthanfivehundreddollars($500).ThedefendantwassubsequentlysentencedtofouryearsintheTennesseeDepartmentofCorrectionasaRangeIImultipleoffender.Inthisappealasofright,thedefendantarguesthatthetrialcourterredinoverrulinghismotionforanewtrial.Themotionallegedthatthetrialcourterredbyallowingcertainexhibitsintoevidenceandthattheevidenceattrialwasinsufficienttoestablishhisguiltbeyondareasonabledoubt.  Afterareviewoftherecordandapplicablelaw,wefindnomerittothedefendantscontentions.Assuch,weaffirmthejudgmentofthecourtbelow.  ThedefendantsconvictionstemmedfromhisinvolvementinanattempttocashacheckbelongingtoAmbroseMosby.Mr.MosbynoticedhischecksandcreditcardchecksweremissinginNovemberof1996whenhereturnedhomeafterhelpingawomanpullhertruckoutofaditch.Mr.Mosbyhadnotgivenanyonepermissiontousehischecksandhewastheonlyauthorizednameontheaccount.OnMay12,1997,thedefendantwentintoabankandlateragrocerystoreinanattempttocashacheckbelongingtoMr.Mosby.Thecheckwasapersonalcheckwrittenintheamountofthreehundreddollars($300)andsignedinthenameofAmbroseMosby.Whenaclerkatthegrocerystorebecamesuspiciousofthedefendant,shecalledthepoliceandthedefendantandhispartnerwereapprehendedastheydroveawayfromthestore.  ThedefendantfirstcontendsthatthetrialcourterredinallowingintoevidenceacheckbelongingtoMr.Mosbythatwasfoundinthewalletofthedefendantspartner.Inhisappellatebrief,thedefendantarguesthattheStatefailedtolaya F:04 foundationuponwhichthisexhibitcouldbeadmittedintoevidencebecausethe :06 authenticityofthephysicalevidence,i.e.,thecheck,wasnotestablished.However,attrialthedefendantobjectedtotheadmissibilityofthischeckonthegroundsofunfairprejudiceandrelevance.  Itisawellestablishedrulethat adefendantmaynotobjecttotheintroductionofevidenceononeground,abandonthisground,andassertanewbasisorgroundfortheobjectioninthisCourt.Statev.Aucoin,756S.W.2d705,715(Tenn. Absentwaiver,thisissueisstillwithoutmerit.Asaconditionprecedenttotheintroductionoftangibleevidence,awitnessmustbeabletoidentifytheevidenceorestablishanunbrokenchainofcustody.Statev.Goodman,643S.W.2d375,381(Tenn. "( Crim.App.1982).WhiletheStateisnotrequiredtoestablishfactswhichexcludeeverypossibilityoftampering,thecircumstancesestablishedmustreasonablyassuretheidentityoftheevidenceanditsintegrity.Statev.Ferguson,741S.W.2d125,127(Tenn. '" Crim.App.1987).Thisissueaddressesitselftothesounddiscretionofthetrialcourt,andthecourtsdeterminationwillnotbedisturbedintheabsenceofaclearlymistakenexerciseofsuchdiscretion.Statev.Beech,744S.W.2d585,587(Tenn.Crim.App. P-#( 1987).  TennesseeRuleofEvidence901(a)statesthatthe authenticationoridentificationasaconditionprecedenttoadmissibilityissatisfiedbyevidencesufficienttothecourttosupportafindingbythetrieroffactthatthematterinquestioniswhatitsproponentclaims.Properauthenticationcanbeestablishedbythetestimonyofawitnesswithknowledgethatamatteriswhatitisclaimedtobe.Tenn.R.Evid.901(b)(1). 906 Inlightoftheforegoing,itisclearthecheckwasproperlyauthenticatedbeforeitwasadmittedintoevidence.OfficerMaddoxtestifiedthathebelievedthechecktobethesamecheckhefoundinthewalletofthedefendantspartnerandthengavetoDeputyWilson.DeputyWilsonthentestifiedthatthecheckwasthesamechecktakenfromthecarandgiventohimbyOfficerMaddox.DeputyWilsonthentestifiedthatthecheckhadbeeninhispossessionfromthemomentOfficerMaddoxhadgivenittohimuntilthemorningoftrialwhenheinitialedthebackofthecheckandgaveittotheStatesattorney.DeputyWilsonthenidentifiedtheinitialsonthebackofthecheckashisown.  Inlightoftheforegoing,achainofcustodywasclearlyestablishedandtheauthenticationofthecheckwassufficienttosupportafindingbythetrieroffactthatthecheckintroducedintoevidencewasthecheckfoundinthewalletofthedefendantspartneronthedaytheywereapprehended.Assuch,thisissueiswithoutmerit.  Thedefendantssecondcontentionisthattheevidenceisinsufficienttoestablishthedefendantsguiltbeyondareasonabledoubt.  AdefendantchallengingthesufficiencyoftheproofhastheburdenofillustratingtothisCourtwhytheevidenceisinsufficienttosupporttheverdictreturnedbythetrieroffactinhisorhercase.ThisCourtwillnotdisturbaverdictofguiltforlackofsufficientevidenceunlessthefactscontainedintherecordandanyinferenceswhichmaybedrawnfromthefactsareinsufficient,asamatteroflaw,forarationaltrieroffacttofindthedefendantguiltybeyondareasonabledoubt.Statev.Tuggle,639S.W.2d 0', 913,914(Tenn.1982).  Whenanaccusedchallengesthesufficiencyoftheconvictingevidence,wemustreviewtheevidenceinthelightmostfavorabletotheprosecutionindeterminingwhether anyrationaltrieroffactcouldhavefoundtheessentialelementsofthecrime 906 beyondareasonabledoubt.Jacksonv.Virginia,443U.S.307,319(1979).Wedonot `  reweighorreevaluatetheevidenceandarerequiredtoaffordtheStatethestrongestlegitimateviewoftheproofcontainedintherecordaswellasallreasonableandlegitimateinferenceswhichmaybedrawntherefrom.Statev.Cabbage,571S.W.2d d 832,835(Tenn.1978).  Inthecaseatbar,thedefendantwaspositivelyidentifiedbyseveralwitnessesasthemanwhocameintothebankandlaterthegrocerystoretocashacheckbelongingtoAmbroseMosby.Inaddition,picturestakenbythebankssecuritycamerashowedthedefendantinsidethebankspeakingwithoneofthebanktellers.Furthermore,OfficerWilsontestifiedthatthedefendant,afterbeingarrestedandgivenhisMirandawarnings,admittedthatalthoughhedidnotforgethecheckhedidattempttopassit.  #  1      ׀Inlightoftheforegoing,itisclearthedefendanthasnotmethisburdenof  illustratingtothisCourtwhytheevidenceisinsufficienttosupportthejurysverdict.Inviewingtheevidenceinthelightmostfavorabletotheprosecution,wefindthatarationaltrieroffactcouldhavefoundtheessentialelementsofthecrimebeyondareasonabledoubt.Assuch,thisissueiswithoutmerit.
