Theclaimant,TeresaDavis,isthirtyfiveandhasatenthgradeeducation.Asnotedbythetrialjudge,shehasobviousintellectuallimitationsandheronlyworkingexperienceisinthefieldofmanuallabor.Atthetimeofthetrialshehadnotbeenabletofindemploymentwithinherlimitations.  ShegraduallydevelopedbilateralcarpaltunnelsyndromeatworkandwasreferredtoDr.GlennBarnett,whoperformedsurgicalreleasesonbotharmsand,whenshecontinuedtohavepainwhenattemptingtowork,referredhertooccupationaltherapy.Heassessedherpermanentimpairmentatfivepercenttoeachupperextremity.  HerattorneyreferredhertoDr.JosephBoals,whoassessedherpermanentimpairmentattenpercenttoeachupperextremitybasedonlossofgripstrengthfollowingbilateralcarpaltunnelreleasesurgery.Dr.RayHesteropinedthatshewouldnotbeabletoperformrepetitiveworkinthefuture.Othermedicalevidenceconfirmedthepermanencyofherinjury.  Appellatereviewisdenovoupontherecordofthetrialcourt,accompaniedbyapresumptionofcorrectnessofthefindingsoffact,unlessthepreponderanceoftheevidenceisotherwise.Tenn.CodeAnn.section506225(e)(2).Considerabledeferenceisaccordedthetrialjudge'sfindingswithrespecttothecredibilityofwitnesseswhotestifyinperson,aswellastheweightandvalueofsuchtestimony.Landersv.Fireman'sFundInsuranceCompany,775S.W.2d355,356(Tenn.1989).Indeterminingaclaimant'spermanentindustrialdisability,thetrialcourtshouldconsider,inadditiontotheextentofmedicalimpairment,manyfactors,includingjobskills,education,age,training,durationofdisabilityandlocaljobopportunitiesforthedisabled.Worthingtonv.ModineManufacturingCo.,798S.W.2d232,234(Tenn.1990).  Thetrialjudgeexpresslyfoundthattherearefewworkopportunitiesfortheclaimantinherdisabledcondition,contrarytothecontentionoftheemployerthattherearenumerousjobsavailabletoher.Theevidencefailstopreponderateagainstthatfindingorthefindingthatshewillretainapermanentimpairmentoffortypercenttobotharms.
