Theonlyissueraisedinthiscaseiswhethertheawardof35percentpermanentdisabilitytotheplaintiffsrightarmisexcessive. Wefindthatitisnotandaffirmthejudgmentofthetrialcourt. Reviewofthefindingsoffactmadebythetrialcourtisdenovoupontherecordofthetrialcourt,accompaniedbyapresumptionofthecorrectnessofthefindings,unlessthepreponderanceoftheevidenceisotherwise.Tenn.CodeAnn.506225(e)(2).Stonev.CityofMcMinnville,896S.W.2d548,550(Tenn.1995).TheapplicationofthisstandardrequiresthisCourttoweighinmoredepththefactualfindingsandconclusionsofthetrialcourtinaworkerscompensationcase.SeeCorcoranv.FosterAutoGMC,Inc.,746S.W.2d452,456(Tenn.1988). Atthetimeofthetrial,theplaintiffwas33yearsofage;shehadgraduatedfromhighschool;shehadtwoyearsoftrainingasanursingassistant;andshehadservedfouryearsintheU.S.Navy,whereshewastrainedandworkedasadentalassistant. TheplaintiffbeganworkforthedefendantonJune23,1993,andonJuly19,1993,shebeganworkontheproductionline.Thisworkrequiredconsiderableuseofthehandsandtheuseoftools.Soonaftercommencingthiswork,theplaintiffbegantoexperiencepaininherrightwrist.OnAugust9,1993,thedefendantsenttheplaintifftoDr.SamuelSells.Dr.Sellsdiagnosedtheplaintiffsproblemascarpaltunnelsyndrome.TheplaintiffwasassignedanotherjobandwassentorwentagaintoseeDr.SellsonFebruary4,1994forpaininherleftandrightarms.Dr.SellsadvisedtheplaintifftostayofffromworkuntilFebruary27,1994.OnJune26,1994,theplaintiffleftworkbecause,accordingtotherecord,shewasunabletofindadaycarefacilityforherchild. 5    Dr.SellsreferredtheplaintifftoDr.JamesK.Lanter,ahandsurgeon.Dr.LantersawtheplaintiffonMarch17,1994anddiagnosedherconditionasDeQuervainstenosynovitisinthelefthandandcarpaltunnelsyndromeintherighthand.Dr.LanterdidsurgeryonthelefthandonJune15,1994andontherighthandonAugust24,1994. 6     MEDICALEVIDENCE   Dr.Lanter,byreport,foundtheplaintiffhadsustainedathreepercentpermanentimpairmenttotherightarmasaresultofthecarpaltunnelsyndrome.Hefoundtheplaintiffhadsomecrepitationintherightshoulderandatrophyofthethenarmuscle(describedoftenasthepadunderthethumb)oftherighthand.Dr.Lanterrestrictedtheplaintifffromrepetitiveuseoftherighthandsuchasoccursincontinuousproductionlinework. TheplaintiffwasreferredtooccupationaltherapyandBarbaraJeanLewis,anoccupationaltherapistwhohadsixyearsofcollegetraininginthedisciplineandwhowasrequestedandlicensedbytheStateofTennesseetotestifyconcerningherevaluationoftheplaintiff. Ms.Lewistestifiedtheplaintiffcouldnotliftmorethan20poundswithherrightarm,thatshehadatrophyofthethenarmuscle,thatshecouldnotdoworkwhichrequiredhertoreachupward,andthatshecouldnotdorepetitiveflexionofthewrist.Ms.Lewisfurthertestifiedtheplaintiffhadlostdexterityinherrighthand. Theplaintifftestifiedshehadworkedbrieflyatadaycarecenterafterleavingemploymentwiththedefendantbutwasunabletoliftchildren,whichwasrequired.Shehadsoughtworkataconveniencestorebutwastoldtherestrictionsshehadwerenotcompatiblewiththatwork. Theplaintifffurthertestifiedshecouldnotworkasadentalassistantbecausethelossofdexterityinherrighthandmadeittoodifficulttohandletheinstrumentsusedindentistryandthathavingtoinsertandremovetheminandfromthepatientsmouthwouldnotbesuccessful. Therecordindicatestheplaintiffsgreatestskillsareasadentalassistantornursingassistant.Herworkexperienceoutsidethemilitaryisproductionlinework.Themedicalrestrictionsprohibitherfromdoingproductionlineworkandtheinabilitytoliftmorethan20poundsatatimeprohibitsherfromworkingasanursingassistantorasachildcareworker.Mostsignificantly,herimpairmenthaseliminatedtheplaintifffrompursuingthetwofieldsofoccupationwhicharethehighestandbestuseofherabilitydentalassistantandnursingassistant. Theupshotofthisisthattheplaintiffsvocationalimpairmentfarexceedsthemedicalimpairmentratingofthreepercent.BecausetheextentofvocationalimpairmentistheissuetoberesolvedbythisCourt,suchdeterminationisnotalwaysconsistentwithanumericalformulaofmedicalimpairmentvisavisvocationalimpairment.SeeCorcoranv.FosterAutoGMC,Inc.,746S.W.2d452(Tenn.1980). Basedonthisrecord,wefindtheevidencedoesnotpreponderateagainstthejudgmentofthetrialcourt.
