Bill Haltom is a healthcare lawyer in Memphis who represents dentists, physicians and hospitals. For over 30 years, he has been an adjunct faculty member of the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry, teaching “Dental Jurisprudence,” a course designed to educate future dentists on all legal aspects of their practice.

Haltom is a past president of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Memphis Bar Association, and is known in the legal community as a writer, speaker, and newspaper and magazine humor columnist. His columns have been featured in the Memphis Commercial Appeal, Scripps Howards News Service, and numerous other newspapers, magazines and journals. He also is the author of four books, including Daddies: An Endangered Species (a collection of his humor columns about being a father); In Search of Hamilton Burger: The Trials and Tribulations of a Southern Lawyer; No Controlling Legal Authority: Essays on the Insignificant Legal Issues of Our Times; and Some Assembly Required: A Daddy's Christmas Book.
