Nashville Lawyer Elected ABA District Representative - Articles

Nashville lawyer Mary Beth Haltom has been elected ABA YLD District 16 Representative by the ABA affiliates in Tennessee.* She will take office at the ABA Annual Meeting in August and serve from 2013 to 2015, representing both Tennessee and Kentucky on the ABA YLD Council. Haltom already is involved in the ABA as a Tennessee delegate to the YLD Assembly and a volunteer with the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS). She graduated from the TIPS Trial Academy in 2010 and currently serves on the academy faculty.

Haltom is a shareholder in the Nashville office of Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop where she focuses her practice in the areas of commercial and business litigation, with an emphasis on commercial transportation and franchise litigation. She earned her law degree in 2005 from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She has been actively involved with the TBA YLD since beginning her practice, including serving as Middle Tennessee governor, secretary, CLE Committee co-chair and Nashville CLE captain. She also was a member of the TBA’s 2012 Leadership Law Class. On the local level, Haltom is active in the Nashville Bar Association and within the local community. She is a board member for the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and a volunteer mentor for Preston Taylor Ministries, an inner city youth ministry.
