This year the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division will be recognizing its outstanding members each month by featuring them in the TBA YLD Attorney Spotlight. For the month of May, the YLD is highlighting Debbie Zimmerle Boudreaux.

Debbie Z. Boudreaux of The Law Office of David J. McKenzie in Lewisburg, Tennessee focuses her practice in family law. She primarily handles complex divorces, child custody matters, and adoptions.
Boudreaux, born and raised in Chapel Hill, Tennessee, attended Forrest High School before earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2008. Boudreaux was the recipient of the Sam Nailing, Jr. Pre-Law Award and was also awarded a Department of Business Academic Award while at UT Martin. After college, she moved to New Orleans to obtain her law degree from the Loyola University College of Law.
Boudreaux has been very active in her community and in the Bar since entering private practice in 2011. In addition to her private practice, she has served as the Municipal Court Judge for Chapel Hill overseeing traffic offenses and other city ordinance violations since 2013. She is a Member of the American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association and Young Lawyers Division, Tennessee Municipal Judges Conference, and the Marshall County Bar Association. Boudreaux is currently serving as the District 11 Representative of the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, where she has spearheaded many successful clinics and other legal programs for first responders, families in need, and other community members. She is looking forward to serving the YLD for the upcoming bar year as the Curriculum Coordinator for the CATALYST program - a program designed to bring the legislative process to high school students throughout the State of Tennessee. She is a tireless advocate for her clients and a great asset to our legal community.
On a personal note, Debbie Boudreaux is married to fellow attorney Ross Boudreaux. Her negotiation skills were strong enough to convince him to take a second bar exam and move from Louisiana to Tennessee to start their life together. They have two children, Jack and Mary, and another baby on the way. They love to travel as often as their practice allows them and both have a borderline unhealthy love for the city of New Orleans. Please join us in congratulating Debbie Z. Boudreaux as this month’s Tennessee Bar Association YLD’s Attorney Spotlight!
Please send nominations for the June 2018 YLD Attorney Spotlight to YLD Publications Chair Justin Faith.
