U.S. Rep. Diane Black and Bill Lee are the only two candidates for Tennessee governor who support changing the way the state attorney general is selected, The Tennessean reports. Black didn’t specify which method of selection she would prefer, but stated that it should be through either direct election or legislative appointment. Lee said he supports a system in which the governor nominates the AG, who is then confirmed by legislators.
