Shelby County Chief Public Defender Stephen Bush has announced he will retire this year, The Commercial Appeal reports. Bush has been with the office for 27 years and was appointed to lead it in 2010. Bush notified county Mayor Mark Luttrell of his retirement in January, but plans to remain in place as the county transitions under the new county mayor.
