A federal judge in Washington state has issued a temporary restraining order that blocks one company’s publication of blueprints to produce guns from 3D printers, the ABA Journal reports. Defense Distributed planned to publish the blueprints starting Aug. 1 after settling a lawsuit with the U.S. State Department in June. The July 31 district court opinion questioned the “federal government’s dramatic change of position” to allow publication of the gun plans. The White House on Wednesday said that the Justice Department made the deal without the administration’s input.
